Major of the Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance

The major of the master’s degree in Economics and Finance allows graduates to acquire the necessary expertise in mathematical and statistical tools as well as the advanced knowledge needed for a successful career in the field of economics and financial, with special emphasis on the role of markets and financial intermediaries.

The master’s degree in Economics and Finance provides cutting edge preparation in techniques for price formation, securities trading, management of corporate finance and extraordinary transactions as well as the ability to understand the more meaningful connections and trends in macroeconomics and international finance.The major in Economics also offers RoME, a specialization program for particularly promising students, offered in collaboration with the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance. Students selected for the program will participate in special courses in addition to those required for the master’s program. The students may also compete for eight scholarships.

Graduates of this master’s degree program can hold positions of high responsibility in the economic and financial system, in investment banks, asset management companies, banks and other financial institutions. They may also launch careers with international organizations supervisory authorities, central banks, in finance and in managing multinational companies.

Graduates in Economics and Finance can also work as consultants at the highest levels of the economic and financial field. The program furthermore includes internships with financial institutions, consulting companies, public entities and regulatory and supervisory authorities.

Erasmus+ and Bilateral Exchange Programs

The Luiss Student Exchange Office manages and promotes student exchanges within the Erasmus Program, as well as through bilateral exchange agreements with non-European universities. The procedures are based on the ECTS system. All eligible students can apply to be selected for an opportunity to study abroad on an Erasmus+ or Bilateral exchange in one of our several partner Institutions. Our Erasmus+/Bilateral network currently boasts 218 agreements with Higher Education Institutions in 46 countries, and it grows every year.

The International Development Office offers to students a wide range of structured partnerships and double degree programs they can apply for, depending on the specific Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program they’re currently enrolled in or the program they’re willing to enroll in for the next academic year.
