STUDY AT LUISS UNIVERSITY, Rome for 2019/2020
Located in the heart of Rome, Luiss University of Rome is specialized in the Social Sciences to educate over 9,000 students from around the world, offering programs both in Italian and English.
Since its founding, Luiss has developed privileged partnerships with the business community – through its relationship with Confindustria, the largest Italian industry association – as well as with the legal practice, governmental institutions, and civil society.
Luiss is an independent university recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education that offers an innovative educational approach at its four Departments: Economics and Finance, Business and Management, Law, and Political Science.
Its goal is not simply to convey knowledge but to instill flexibility in young people, giving them a sense of mastery over their future.
The Luiss educational model combines academic rigor with practical relevance. Luiss utilizes three approaches in the design and the development of its programs:
The #1 private university in Italy
Among the top 1% for the Luiss Business School and the Department of Business and Management
One of the Top 100 Political Science Programs in the world
Alessandra Genco is the CFO of Leonardo, the Italian aerospace and defense company. She was previously Vice President Group Finance, in charge of capital markets, treasury, investments and insurance activities.
Prior to joining Leonardo, she spent seven years in the US where she worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs as Vice President in their New York Office.
She covered clients across numerous industries, including financial sponsors. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a M.Sc. in Economics from Luiss Guido Carli University. She is on the board of various companies, in Europe and in the US. Strongly committed to the theme of diversity, she serves as mentor of talented young women.
My experience at Luiss consists of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance, a Master’s degree in Finance and two semesters abroad thanks to the QTEM program. QTEM offers huge growth potential and is therefore a great investment: I’ve been selected for a traineeship position at the European Central Bank, in the department of Market Operations, where I’ve been working since August as a Supervision Analyst in the Risk Analysis and Quantitative Risk division, where I monitor the market, credit and operational risk of EU banks.
